Researchers find that 'soft matter' can be a viable storage medium!
Researchers from the United States say that 'soft matter ' can be a viable storage medium and can store a terabyte of data in a single tablespoon of liquid hard drive. They found that the microscopic particles suspended in liquid have the capacity to encode the same 1s and 0s as solid hard drives do these days.
Yes its just the first step as IBM managed to store a bit in just 12 atoms which is incredible and sounds a little weird as well but its true. They also say that a lot of data can be stored on these liquid hard drives with the right techniques .
Maybe be one day in the future of course we might get to say that "I have brought the files in this bottle" but for now we will have to stay with the solid hard drives for storing our important data.
'though I wonder will we get liquid blank discs'!LOL
