David Beckham. Biography
An English idol David Beckham was born on 2 May 1975 in Leytonstone area in London.
David embarked on his football grooming at Tottenham Hotspur and Brimsdown Rovers ahead of getting a toehold at Manchester United. It was Manchester where Beckham carved out a career for himself and announced himself to the world football. He made his debut first-team appearance in the Red Devils jersey in 1992 aged only 17 and signed the first professional contract with club shortly afterwards. During tremendous ten-year stint at the United, Beckham won the Premier League six times, the FA Cup twice and the UEFA Champions League in the 1998/99 season to say nothing of the FA Community Shield and Intercontinental Cup in 1999. Overall, he made a total of 265 appearances scoring 62 goals for the Red Devils.
In the summer 2003, Beckham signed for the Spanish reigning champions Real Madrid. It was a superb transfer coup for a fee of €35 million. Packed with talented stars as Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo, Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos, Iker Casillas and Raúl, Los Merengues won the Supercopa de España trophy in August 2003 with Beckham netting the final goal in a 3-0 win over RCD Mallorca. In his last 2006/07 season with Real, the English player helped the club to become La Liga champions snapping up victory from Barcelona. All in all, Beckham shone in 116 matches in Real colours.
In July 2007, David moved to the USA and signed for a top-flight club Los Angeles Galaxy, getting a captain’s armband shortly after. In 2009 and in 2010, he had short loan spells at the Italian giants Milan showing a string of terrific performances there. Returning to the Galaxy, Beckham helped the team to win the MLS Cup trophy in 2011 and 2012.
In 2013 David completed a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 37. After becoming the champion of France David put his glorious football career to an end.
